Well hey guys.

Found this on calaisturbo.com.au and decided to buy it. It was cheap and good. So why not?

I pick it up from melbourne on Wednesday. I brought it as the missus vl that I have been working on has a whole lot of rust and isn't in real good shape.

So thought I would get this and fix this up instead

Hey guys my mate has a white Vl sl for sale, runs ok. Drives well. Had 200 on the clock. Has battery in the boot. And hidden wiring throughout, also has fusevix relocated to the dash. Disc breaks, tinted windows. lots of rust been repaired. Pictures coming soon. 2.5 inch exhaust throughout. Can prob drive it home just bring your own battery. No rwc, or reg. Comes with all the required panels

Bad thing is it needs to be painted because it's been rubbed back, minor dints have been bogged up. blue interior in ok condition.



Starter motor wiring snap here, might be able to see all the tranny connections etc down there too.




All the relays usally found behind the drivers side headlight and fusible links are hidden behind the drivers side kick panel as you can see. To connect the fusible links we used the existing starter motor cable from the alternator wiring loom and connected it to the starter motor, its under the carpet behind the panels right against the firewall away from the pedals. Starter is then obviously connected to a battery in the boot

yes it comes will all the panels, if ur keen call the owner this thing is booked to go on the 27th of January so come get urself a running vl project, or something for parts for **** alll. The interior is a light blue color and in ok condition, not show room, but not trash either.

2 days and i pick her up Cant wait!!! Then I can go over it and see what things I can do!!

Also finish the wagon and put that back together then this can go in the shed

Well hey guys....... BIG DAY today. Went to melbs and picked this girl up!

Well after we got stuffed around with the trailer...Had only one ramp, no spare tyre, Light plug wasn't long enough, the one ramp that was there was held in by a piece of rope.....GOD!!!! You would think from me ringing up on saturday and booking it in for wednesday, The thing would be ready to go! .....But no there too fu*king lazy lol..

Anyways enough of that. lol...We got on the road and headed down. Got there and seemed like a good bloke...

I'm happy with the car, Rust has been fixed like mentioned in the for sale ad. He started smoothing the bay so that's a good start. Its pretty god damn straight too!

Also has cruise control, A GOOD alarm system, came with a few receipts. Was last registered in 2008 and expired in 2009....

Did a check on it and is not stolen, no money owing or anything, so thats another good thing lol....

Well anyways, here is some pics I took as soon as I got it off the trailer. ENJOY

Going to through this in the shed 2moz hopefully and see what is actually there...

Well got the motor out....Pulled the cover off the timing belt too see what condition the belt was in...And found a leaking cam seal...

You will see in the pics just above the water pump where I wiped it. The oil was still wet like it had just ran down there...

Also found one broken exhaust stud so will have to easy out that son of a B....

hmm what a bugger man i hate broken Zorst stud....

Well today I was a little busy with this lol....It was too hot to do too much HAHA

Removed some stuff out of the bay...

All the aircon, just have to do the inside part
Master cylinder
Unbolted the booster, Just have to disconnect the brake pedal and remove
Power Steering lines
Front plastic stone guard
Cruise control unit

Was standing next to the car, Decided I would pull the tape off from around the front window....And found a little bit of rust...Not as much as the other shell tho.

yeah this is getting what the 308 was lol....this is the new shell for that..So whatever I was doing to that, is getting done to this instead

Up on tyres as stands...With my home made hoist lol (Engine crane haha) Done a little more sanding in the bay, Just web rub with 240 grit

hahaha nice man... when are we gonna see some colour on this thing?

Got to get some more primer and wait until the weather is warm again lol...still alot more sanding yet

Well hello again guys, Been doing a bit more on this....

Pulled the front screen out today and found that the front cowl panel is screwed. So I pulled it off...Will buy a new one from rare spares!

Also there is a lip on the firewall I thought I would do something different....So I folded it up and will either weld along it and smooth it off, or just bog it smooth.....Dunno yet, Your thoughts?
