Yet another of the toys turned money pits (they always are)

Had this little fun box for around 12 months now, not too far from being done, new gktech front mount, new ecu + ignition, some final touches to interior then finally a respray. Doesn't look like anything special but believe me its come a long way since i've gotten my gritty little hands on it.

Exterior- Nothing special as of yes, has some holographic flakes (prismatek) in the paint work and some dodgy muzza spec altezza tail lights that i've been meaning to replace, aside from the sunroof thats about it.

Running Gear- Motor rebuilt with a couple of goodies like New h/d double valve springs, lpg stage 2 turbo crow cam, addy adjustable cam gear, degreased/balanced/blueprinted A8 block, bored & ground 1-though oversize, new h/d rods, linish crankshaft, lpg speck stage 2 new head, full gas research system with customised inlet manifold for throttle body, lpg turbo valve seat inserts, hi volume oil pump, new exhaust valves, connetec race series turbo head gasket, arp head studs, new valve lifters, rb26dett waterpump, acl conrods & bearings, acl main bearings, acl forged flat top pistons, dump pipe goes to a 3 1/4" exhaust with highflow cat, rebuilt highflowed lowmount t3 turbo, stage 1 avo intercooler, nice new shiny catch can, some twin electric thermos to keep it all nice and cool. Is on its run in tune making 246rwhp & 550.8NM of torque on its 8psi safe tune.

Interior- Again nothing special, stock cluster with tacho, 1 good boost gauge and 1 inaccurate boost gauge that ive been lazy with, oil temp gauge, air/fuel gauge, hidden in cab boost controller, just an xplode head unit with some 6.5" splits in the front and some 6x9s in the back (the wirings there for the sub but again im lazy), did have some racing seats but have swapped for a nice clean stock interior.

Rims- Atm its always switching between intercepters with dress rims+centercaps and some nice simple 17" ROH's.

Well, thats a brief summary so feel free to let me know what you think.

ah it hasnt been goin to bad at all, remember how we didnt think it sounded
too healthy when we put the head back on? we totally raped the exhaust gasket
thus the incredibly annoying TICK TICK TICK TICK TICK

cheers to detox.

and to chris, next to come will be the gk-tech front mount rather then the avo intercooler i have atm, then either the haltech e6x or nistune(only $770 installed with dyno tune), then after that its just a matter of cosmetics like giving the bay and interior a tidy up, finish the boot install, then neaten up the wiring job under the dash that the last butcher did, then some time down the track the last job will be a colour change.

yeah the gasket annoyed me for long enough so i ended up fixing it, was totally screwed. All good now except for the rocker cover still leaking at little oil (remember how it was covered in blue gasket goo, now i know why lol)

yeah i think ya may have given me a number for the autronic bloke, did a bit of research on them and a lot of people reckon they are tops for fuel management but aren't too impressive with ignition control. Haltech sell a straight swap ecu with adapter plug for around 1300 from memory and from what ive read that are pretty bloody good with ignition....im an indicisive prick but ill get there in the end lol.

nothing major just a quick little addition to help tidy the bay up. Exhaust shop wanted $350+ for doing a pipe from the turbo to the airbox for rwc so i figured for that price I would give it a go myself. Ended up costing around $80ish for the 2xmandrel bends + silicone hose + hose clamps + cutting disks + pod adapter bolted onto airbox (was the only thing i could think of that was a cheap way to get a join onto the air box). Car seems to still pull just as hard as the piping is 2.5" and its is DEAD QUIET, no flutter no ANYTHING. If it wasn't loud when its spooling up you wouldnt know it was turboed, so i reckon its $80ish well spent as its quiet, i think its tidy as hell, and i like it. Ah well heres a couple of pics with a before and after.

Well, another update, and again nothing major. But still a PAIN IN THE ARSE....."clean up the butcher job on the wiring that the last owner did" has been on my to do list for a while, and today i finally got busy. It might not look like much difference in the pics but trust me I removed a good 40 feet of wire this arvo...and as always heres some before and afters.
