I have just started casual work. Have done 1 day so far.

However I just recieved a phone call, and I have a short list interview on thursday to work at a steel place

good luck with the interview, just stay calm and you will ace it! my full time 'job' is studying at uni, im just about to finish my second year, studying psychology. i currently have 2 paid jobs, one as a fruit and veg filler, which im going to resign from tomorrow. have been there 2.5 years, way to long. i just got a new job as a food and beverage attendent and wedding set up assistant, had my first shift yesterday and it was great. apart from the fact that i worked 9.5 hours and only got a 15 minute break...

MMM damn, thats not right.....You MUST have a certain amount of a break when working long hours. Its the rules and regs......So you can complain.

Thanks man. Yeah I should pass with flying colours, Just all depends on who else is going for it too.....

But its a full time ongoing job. So if I do get it, well there some funds for me to start doing stuff etc and start saving

Hey guys been a refrigeration mechanic for the last 10yrs on $32hr with compny car and phone been working at the same place for 6yrs and wanted to do something different so started a sheetmetal apprenticeship but stayed on the same money with company car and phone but on call as a fridgy when something goes wrong!!!!!

Love doing a new trade something different!!!!!!

wow how do you guys (jono and nath) afford your cars on those wages? you guys must work really hard and save really hard. i respect that! i earn $23.70 an hour now but have $10k of uni fees to pay a year, 'rents dont charge me rent so only have to pay my car maintenance and running costs and i struggle to spend money doing up the car.

chrisso sounds like your really enjoying the new work which is good. you cant work somewhere you dont enjoy otherwise you just hate going into work and whats the point in spending all that time somewhere you hate?

Nackerz make sure you get that job so the car can get some massive funds its way haha

man it kills me, haha especially with 4.11s on a gas guzzing car dont have my licence yet tho so its not so bad!

DAMN them wages are very little...for what you do....all I can say is, its better then me.

The casual job i just started I take home $15 an hour, Before tax is $17.25

Nath, You didnt tell me you could weld ally??? I would of got you to make me a plenum up..

currently studying Biomedical Science full time and working as a pizza hut delivery driver by night(i know im embarrassed) and a TV salesperson for Harvey Norman by day. Earning alright money.

Hopefully I'll get an army undergraduate course next year and get $40 000 per yea plus uni fees payed for

Yeah man only have a Mig Inverter not a Tig. Mainly weld 1.6 and 3mm ally but weld up to 10mm Plate as well.

yeah thats all you need to make a plenum man.
