Deep Turbo Whistle Noise Just started 2 days ago. Any Ideas

Hey Blokes

Now Sunday night i got home. No weird noises while i was driving just normal turbo spool noises and flutters.

Go to Work on monday morn and i hear this deep whistle from the turbo as soon as i hit boost (so at 1psi and up to my max boost im running)
I have gone all over my intake piping and tightened up all hose clamps as well as checked the turbo for any shaft play as well(nothing there)

Filmed this in my engine bay so there are other noises as well. Was filmed in high Def but lowered the quality as it was 60mb now its under 1 mb coz really all we listening to is the whisle.

And its bloody annoying.
Any ideas?

is it internal gated or external man??

if its honestly an ebay kit then they have a 50mm external gate..heres there "expert claims"

Yeah but i think it was just an ebay turbo not a whole kit....cant remember

just had a quick look at his bay in the photos, exhaust manifold doesnt look a polished stainless so it may not have been a full kit, going by the looks of it id be about 99% sure its an external (couldnt see an actuator anywhere)....might be wrong but meh

its external yeah, not a monsta gate as well as i know they r shit. manifold is ebay jobby as well LOL was polished. not a kit
how would waste-gate do this... ? not closing properly or leak in diaphragm.

for my application should i be running an 38mm gate anyways nackerz

I was running a 38mm

Yeah, it sounds like its leaking somewhere on boost and its causing it to whistle....So its afterthe turbo somewhere.......

Could be:

Intercooler pipes somewhere leaking
Wastegate leaking: Either gasket, Diaphram leaking, could be something else...Like not closing properly like you said


Have you got a blow off valve? I dont think you do of the top of my head...

nah blow off valve is a wank factor on low boost apps LOL
as for the gate its a 50mm
i have checked all my cooler piping, clamps all tight.

Cheers man ill have to rip off the waste-gate and have a look

Yeah, maybe the gate might be that little bit big for your setup man. But you wont have to change it.

It sounds like its leaking out of the gasket or something. Is it plumed into your dump pipe man??

yeah looked along man.. to a certain extent anyways. and have been looking on google about it as well.
One fella was saying he had the same prob and he found a damaged exhaust wheel. so i was gonna inspect and twisted the fkn bolt head off on my turbo exhaust housing. cracked the shits and come inside and had a JD instead. gotta soak them in inox and heat it up and try get them out. and thats with anti seize on them P.O.S

Yeah man, anti sieze is good but you need to use a fair bit. After a fair while they will still get stuck but wont rust in there..

a leak in cooler pipe wont allow you to come on boost.

vac line on back of plenum or anything?

yeah i can still boost man... so
vac lines i may have a look at.. could be a split in one as they see boost as well
